Cindell Construction is an established commercial specialty trades contractor based in Frederick, Maryland, operating across multiple related entities. Our scopes include drywall, light gauge metal framing, rough carpentry, acoustical ceilings, insulation, EIFS and siding, air and weather barrier, doors, and finishing. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced construction accountant to take ownership of the accounting function. Our team currently handles AR, billing, collections, payroll, certified payroll, and AP entry. This position completes that structure: reviewing the transactional work, identifying and correcting issues, and taking responsibility for the accuracy of the financial information. This is a hands-on position working directly with ownership. The right candidate has the construction accounting background to work through the detail when an account doesn't reconcile. We will consider candidates at either the Controller or Accountant level depending on experience. Responsibilities

• Review vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and proper coding; prepare and release payments
• Perform month-end close and prepare financial statements and cash-flow reporting
• Complete bank, credit card, general ledger, and balance-sheet reconciliations
• Maintain job cost, WIP, and percentage-of-completion accounting
• Reconcile payroll and prepare accruals and adjusting entries
• Handle intercompany accounting across multiple entities
• Coordinate directly with ownership and our outside CPA Qualifications
• Construction accounting experience with a general contractor or subcontractor
• Working knowledge of WIP and percentage-of-completion accounting
• Experience owning a month-end close through financial statements
• Multi-entity and intercompany accounting experience preferred
• Proficiency with construction accounting software
• Degree in accounting or equivalent experience Job Type: Full-time
