About the position The Accounting Technician is responsible for the verification of cash, credit/ debit card payments and meal calculations, compiling and posting financial documents and reconciling invoice statements. This role typically works on projects and tasks that span 1 day – 3 months and requires the ability to understand and abide by policies, procedures, and programs. Responsibilities
- Accurate compilation of data to produce financial statements in accordance with Goodwill and Navy contract.
- Verifying and compiling Uniform Replacement information, Employee Meal Deduction and submitting weekly spreadsheets and documents for payroll deductions.
- Accurate invoice processing including coding and posting all invoices using Microsoft D365 Accounting system.
- Reconciling vendor statements to ensure all invoices have been received, posted and properly applied by the vendor.
- Effectively plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments.
- Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.
- Uses technical skills and knowledge to manage day-to-day tasks.
- Serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community.
- Participates in volunteer opportunities as schedule and interest permit.
- Completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned. Requirements
- Two years of college education or experience equivalency.
- Proficient in the use of spreadsheet and financial/database programs. (Preferably Microsoft Excel, Word and Dynamics 365).
- Must be a US Citizen, as defined by US Navy security guidelines.
- Required to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) within 90 days of date of hire, pursuant to US Navy security guidelines. Inability to obtain CAC card may result in removal and/or termination from position. Nice-to-haves
