Duties
- Staff Counsel trial Attorney job duties include defending company-insured clients or the organization itself in civil litigation, insurance defense, and personal injury cases.
- Manage full caseloads from discovery through trial.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents; conduct legal research and handle expert witness retention.
- Develop litigation strategies, conduct settlement negotiations, and report case progress to claims associates and clients.
- Represent clients and the company in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and mediations. Qualifications for this position:
- Member in good standing with the State Bar of California
- Minimum 1 year of civil litigation experience, preferably insurance defense litigation, including jury trial experience
- Strong research and writing skills and excellent work ethic required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required Skills necessary for this position:
- Superior awareness of and compliance with all applicable rules of professional conduct
- Substantial experience in civil litigation, preferably insurance defense litigation, including jury trial experience
- Comprehensive legal knowledge which promotes standards of professional practice and strong knowledge of the litigation environment in California Job Type: Full-Time Work Location: In-Person
